Squarespace announced that they added a new feature to all commerce plan users: POS with the help of Square. So if you have been using Square for your in-person selling needs and Squarespace for online selling then good news you can combine them now!
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
If you are a Squarespace Commerce plan user then you now have the ability to sell in-person from your Squarespace commerce app. It also means you no longer have to use a separate account to sell in person, you never have to worry about overselling because your inventory syncs across both now.
Your discount codes now sync across from online to the POS, simply choose existing and add the discount. Now your discounts, customers, products and inventory sync seamlessly and can be found in one place.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
If you are currently on the SquareSpace Commerce Basic or Advanced plans, simply login to the commerce app and you will be greeted with an announcement.
If you aren’t currently a SquareSpace user, simply get started here with a commerce basic or advanced plan, download the SquareSpace commerce app and start selling.
I DON’T SELL PRODUCTS, HOW WOULD I USE THE POS?
If you don’t have any physical products you can still use it to sell digital products and even services. Courses, one-on-ones and more can be sold in person at conferences, events, and appointments.
HOW TO GET STARTED
First, you will need to download the SquareSpace commerce app, login and connect your Square reader to your payment options.
The Squarespace Commerce app is only available on the IOS platform and Android platform for now but will update once iPad support becomes available.
I‘m glad to see that even though the focus of Squarespace isn’t strictly commerce based they still listen to the needs of their customers.
